I went out and tried to get some 2M APRS Portable by bike!

I had my laptop, icom 705 and a 5M fibreglass pole with a J pole/slim jim for the top. I didn’t have a stargety for a good location. I just wanted to practice something near home.

As I set up and tried to switch my laptop on. It would just flash and blink all it’s lights. It’s a Lenovo X250. With flashing power, F1, F4 and FN buttons. I couldn’t fix it there, so just sent out a 2M FM QSO. A Mobile station did report back to me, just barely. I packed up and went home.

I had my home APRS station listening and recording things. And noticed a few issues.

1. I have two instances of Digiradio-V subscribed to the same KISS (direwolf) source. And they are graphing slightly different points of me.

2. My listening station is not always processing all messages corretly. Direwolf is stating that signals are coming in too loud from my GM3x0 radio. Where as on my IC705, the usb soundcard didn’t have this issue, and it was happily processing all packets comming in.

I will have to address these in the near future. I also need to address how to add in images into Hugo site builder.
